Yes. Since 21 May 2022, a carrier performing international carriage of goods with vehicles of a permissible gross weight above 2.5 t up to 3.5 t must hold authorisation to pursue the occupation of road transport operator and a Community licence. We confirm the carrier's authorisations and documents before the order. ### Can a van run without breaks, since it is not a lorry? From 1 July 2026, driving time, break and rest rules and the tachograph apply to international carriage of goods by vans above 2.5 t. We plan the schedule of an urgent route with these rules in mind; for a very tight deadline we can discuss a two-driver option; availability is confirmed for the specific route. ### When is a van better than a part load? When no transhipment, a direct route and a fixed time window matter. With a flexible date and a smaller volume, a [part load](/en/services/groupage-part-loads/) is usually enough. ### Do you handle regular projects, not just single runs? Yes. For regular runs we agree the volume, pickup times, route, driver requirements and reporting rules. Call or write by email — [contact details](/en/contact/). ## FAQ ### What is the difference between a part load and groupage? A part load means adding your cargo to a vehicle travelling a similar route, usually without transhipment. Groupage goes into a network with transhipment at terminals. The choice depends on how sensitive the goods are, the deadline and the route. ### Is the delivery date for a part load fixed? The date depends on whether consignments can be combined on the given route, so we confirm it for the specific enquiry. If you have a fixed time window, tell us straight away — we will propose a dedicated option. ### What document accompanies a part load abroad? The international CMR consignment note with a description of the goods, the number of packages and the weight. At delivery it is worth counting the items and entering reservations on the note; non-apparent damage is reported in writing within 7 days of delivery, excluding Sundays and public holidays. ### What information speeds up a quote? Number of pallets or items, weight and dimensions, stackability, date flexibility, addresses and operating hours, and customs or document requirements. ## FAQ ### What information do you need for a quote? Pickup and delivery points, dates, cargo parameters (dimensions, weight, number of pallets or pieces) and special requirements such as temperature, an exclusive vehicle or documents. The more complete the enquiry, the faster we can reply. ### How quickly will I get a reply? Enquiries from the form go straight to the transport desk. We reply during working hours (Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00, Polish time); for urgent matters a phone call is fastest. ### Do you handle international transport? Yes. We organise domestic and international transport, in particular to Germany and the DACH countries, Scandinavia, Central Europe and the Balkans. Scope and availability are confirmed for each order. ### Can I book an exclusive vehicle? Yes, as dedicated 3.5 t vans or full-truckload (FTL) transport. A dedicated vehicle limits co-loading and transshipment, and the route is planned for a single order. Availability is confirmed for each order. ### How does an order work? You describe the job, we match the vehicle and formalities, we run the transport with ongoing communication and confirm delivery once the job is complete. ## FAQ ### How much cargo does Frankfurt airport handle? According to Fraport data quoted by the trade press, cargo volume in 2025 was approx. 2.1 million t. This is a secondary source, so it is worth checking current figures directly with the airport operator. ### Is a slot needed to collect from CargoCity Süd? According to industry sources, LUG and Frankfurt Cargo Services have required a slot booking in the Fair@Link system since 2018. Confirm each handler's rules before dispatching a vehicle. ### Does the driver need a paper collection authorisation? It depends on the handler. Some handlers run the Smart Pick-up pilot, a digital authorisation with a QR code, but the procedure must be confirmed with the handler for the specific shipment. ### What vehicle will you use to collect cargo from FRA? We select the vehicle to match the cargo parameters (the range is given on the service page); availability is confirmed individually, depending on the cargo. We confirm specific availability once we have the parameters, so prepare the number of pieces, dimensions and weight. ### How do I enquire about a pickup from Frankfurt? Via the [contact](/en/contact/) page: by phone or e-mail. Provide the terminal or handler, AWB number, cargo parameters, readiness and delivery point. ## FAQ ### What options for an urgent international shipment do you check? Depending on the direction and the readiness of the shipment, we compare the options available for the given route. We confirm the specific option and its timing once we receive the details. ### Do you handle customs clearance of shipments from outside the EU? Customs status and documents must be settled before pickup. The necessary documents (invoice, description of contents, importer details) are supplied by the sender or consignee. Customs clearance can be arranged with our network of partner customs agencies in Europe — the scope of our coordination is agreed in the order. ### What most often delays an urgent shipment? An incomplete description of contents, missing documents, an unsettled customs status, and no contact person available at pickup or delivery. A complete enquiry shortens the arrangements. ### What details should I send in the enquiry? Country and city of pickup, delivery location, shipment readiness, exact weight, dimensions and description of contents, expected date and information about documents. The list is also on the [contact page](/en/contact/). ## FAQ ### What do you need to collect a shipment from FRA? The AWB or shipment number, the terminal/handler name, information on cargo readiness and customs status, and the pick-up authorisation issued by the forwarder. Without these we cannot confirm a pickup time; slot booking rules are agreed in the order. ### Who books the slot with the handler? Booking rules are agreed in the order. According to industry sources, some handlers at CargoCity Süd require a slot in the Fair@Link system; we confirm the rules with the handler for each shipment. ### Is pickup possible right after landing? Only once the shipment has been unloaded, registered by the handler and has a settled customs status. Pickup time also depends on available slots and the handler's opening hours, which is why we do not give it in advance. ### What vehicles do you use for the road leg? We select a vehicle from 1.5 t up to a 24 t combination once we receive the cargo parameters. We confirm the availability of a specific vehicle for the given date. ## FAQ ### What document accompanies international FTL transport? The international CMR consignment note. It includes, among other things, the details of the sender, carrier and consignee, the place and date of taking over the goods, a description of the cargo, the number of packages and the gross weight. Details are in the article on the CMR consignment note (Polish only). ### Up to what amount is the carrier liable for loss of goods? In international carriage the CMR Convention limits compensation for total or partial loss of goods to 8.33 SDR per kilogram of gross weight short. For high-value cargo, the sender may declare the value of the goods in the consignment note — we agree this before the order. ### What should I do if the goods arrive damaged? Enter visible damage as a reservation on the consignment note at delivery; report non-apparent damage in writing within 7 days of delivery (excluding Sundays and public holidays), and delay within 21 days of the goods being placed at the consignee's disposal. It is worth taking photos and counting the items in the driver's presence. ### Does a 13.6 m unit fit within the limits without permits? According to the summary of Directive 96/53/EC, the standard EU values are: articulated vehicle length 16.50 m, width 2.55 m, height 4.00 m, combination weight 40 t; for a specific unit we verify them against current regulations. Cargo extending beyond these dimensions is already [oversize transport](/en/services/oversize-transport/). ## FAQ ### How should garments be prepared for transport on hangers? Garments in covers, on hangers of one type, grouped by model, size or destination store, with a list of items for each rail. Agree with us who hangs and removes the garments at the loading and unloading points. ### Can hanging garments be combined with cartons in one vehicle? It depends on the order and the vehicle — we confirm individually. State the number of hanging items and cartons in your enquiry. ### How are garments counted at delivery? The consignee counts the items against the hanger list in the driver's presence and enters any shortages or damage as a reservation on the transport document. This is the basis for any claim. ### What information speeds up a GOH quote? Number of items or linear metres, garment length, number of pickup and delivery points, time windows and warehouse or store requirements. Send them by email or give them by phone — [contact details](/en/contact/). ## FAQ ### Does EVS classify and package biological material? No. Classification (e.g. UN 3373, category B) and packaging in line with instruction P650 are the shipper's responsibility. With the shipper and the consignee we agree the handover points, time window, accompanying documents and how we communicate during the journey. ### What is a dry shipper and can it be carried by road? It is a container in which liquid nitrogen is absorbed in a porous material; as a rule it does not spill or build up pressure, but this depends on the container's design, which is assessed by the shipper and the manufacturer. The holding time depends on the model and on how it was charged, and is confirmed by the shipper. We agree the conditions of each carriage individually. ### Does the driver need ADR qualifications for UN 3373 consignments? According to the UK interpretation of ADR (GOV.UK), a consignment correctly packaged and marked in line with P650 does not require a driver with ADR qualifications or plates on the vehicle. ADR applies in Poland — the final requirements follow from the classification made by the shipper and are confirmed before the order. ### What information speeds up a quote for medical transport? Pickup and handover locations, date and time window, type of material and how it is prepared, required documents, and contact persons on both sides. See the [list of enquiry details](/en/contact/). ## FAQ ### How does GOH differ from transporting clothing in cartons? In GOH, garments travel on hangers, on rails, without folding or packing into cartons. This reduces repacking, but requires different preparation: covers, grouping and hanging lists. ### Can GOH be combined with cartons in one vehicle? It depends on the order and the vehicle — we confirm individually, but it must be agreed at the enquiry stage, because it affects the load layout and loading sequence. In your [enquiry](/en/contact/), state the number of hanging pieces and the number of cartons. ### Who hangs and removes the garments on the rails? It depends on the order, so it is worth agreeing in advance: who hangs at loading, who removes at unloading and within what time. Put the arrangement in the order. ### How do I report damage or missing pieces after delivery? Count the pieces on receipt and note any reservations on the consignment document in the driver's presence. Attach photos and contact us by phone or e-mail — [contact details](/en/contact/). ## FAQ ### Do you organise aid outside Europe? Yes, we accept enquiries for destinations worldwide. We organise and coordinate the European road leg and arrange onward legs with air and sea partners. Scope and feasibility are confirmed for each operation. ### Do you help prepare the transport, not just carry it? Yes. We agree with the organiser the list of goods, packing and palletisation, packing lists and the documents required by the destination country. Customs clearance can be arranged with our network of partner customs agencies in Europe — the scope is confirmed for each order. ### Which documents are needed? Usually a packing list with a description and quantities, a transport document (the CMR consignment note in international carriage) and documents confirming the purpose of the cargo where the consignee or the customs authorities of the destination country require them. Before the order we send a list of what must be ready. ### What speeds up a quote? Loading place, destination country and recipient, type and quantity of goods (pallets, weight, dimensions), the date and who is responsible for documents on the recipient's side. Send the details via the form on this page. ## FAQ ### When is a load abnormal? When the vehicle with its load exceeds the permitted dimensions, total weight or axle loads. For a combination the standard is a width of 2.55 m, height of 4.00 m, length of 16.50 m (articulated vehicle) and weight of 40 t. Any excess requires a permit of the appropriate category. ### Can several smaller items be carried together as an oversize load? No. An abnormal vehicle may only carry an indivisible load, that is, one that cannot be divided without disproportionate cost or risk of damage (the exception applies only to category I). ### When is an escort needed? One escort vehicle is required once a length of 23 m, width of 3.20 m, height of 4.50 m or weight of 60 t is exceeded. Two escort vehicles — once 30 m, 3.60 m, 4.70 m or 80 t is exceeded. ### How long does it take to obtain a permit? It depends on the category, the authority and the route; we do not give a time in advance. Category II permits are issued by the starosta (county head), categories III–IV by the Director General of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) (from 1 July 2026, applications for categories III–V are submitted to one of the 16 GDDKiA Branches), and category V applies to a designated route. Plan the transport well in advance and send the full set of parameters. ## FAQ ### Does every load wider than 2.55 m require a permit? Exceeding the permitted dimensions, weight or axle loads makes a vehicle abnormal, and moving such a vehicle requires a permit of the appropriate category. The specific category is set out in Annex 1 to the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym), so for a preliminary analysis we need the full dimensions and weight of the combination. ### Can several smaller items be carried in one abnormal combination? Generally not. An abnormal vehicle may carry only an indivisible load, except for category I vehicles. If the load can be divided without disproportionately high costs or risk of damage, splitting it across several movements must be considered. ### Who issues the permit for the movement? For category II the authority is the starosta (county head); for categories III and IV it is the Director General of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). From 1 July 2026, applications for category III–V permits are submitted to one of the GDDKiA Branches. Check the current procedure on the [GDDKiA website](https://www.gov.pl/web/gddkia/przejazdy-nienormatywne3). ### How long does it take to obtain a permit? The time depends on the category and the authority, so plan the movement in advance and do not assume a fixed time. Once we have the cargo parameters, we will [verify the requirements](/en/contact/) before confirming the job. ### When is an escort vehicle required? One escort vehicle is required when the combination exceeds a length of 23.00 m, a width of 3.20 m, a height of 4.50 m or a weight of 60 t. Two escort vehicles (front and rear) are required above 30.00 m, 3.60 m, 4.70 m or 80 t. ## FAQ ### Do you deliver to military units? We accept enquiries for full-truckload and dedicated transport to units and plants of the defence sector. Driver, vehicle and document requirements are agreed with the client before the job. ### Do you carry dual-use goods? Yes. Exports of dual-use items outside the EU are governed by Regulation (EU) 2021/821 — the exporter obtains the authorisation, and we plan the carriage in line with the documents we receive. Before the order we ask the shipper to confirm whether the cargo is subject to export control and agree which documents must accompany it. ### Do you work with companies from outside Poland? Yes. We work with companies from NATO countries delivering in Poland and Europe. We handle enquiries in English, German and Polish. ### Do you take the client's transport requirements into account? The client's requirements for the driver, the vehicle and the site-entry procedure are written into the order and confirmed before the vehicle is dispatched. ### Do you run next-day transports? Short-notice enquiries are handled first, as far as vehicle availability allows. Feasibility depends on vehicle availability and complete data — we reply after checking. ## FAQ ### Do you organise transport of humanitarian aid to Ukraine? We accept enquiries from organisations and companies, including preparation of a whole operation — see the [humanitarian aid transport](/en/services/humanitarian-aid-transport/) page. We agree the scope, route and documents for each specific carriage — the requirements depend on the type of goods, the consignee and current border procedures. ### What documents are needed? Usually a CMR consignment note, an invoice or goods specification, and documents required by the consignee and the customs authorities. The sender prepares the full set of documents; before the order we provide a list of what must be ready. ### Do you give a transit time? Not in advance. The time depends on the route, the border crossing, queues and inspections, which change from day to day. We plan the carriage with a margin and keep you informed of progress. ### What speeds up a quote? Loading and unloading locations, type and quantity of goods, weight and dimensions, the consignee's details in Ukraine, and whether the goods are commercial or aid. Send the details through the form on this page. ## FAQ ### What is available capacity? These are vehicles that, after a delivery in Germany or another country, return to Poland and can take a load on the return route. For the shipper it means a vehicle available quickly, without waiting for one to be sent from Poland. ### How do I know a vehicle is available? Availability changes daily and depends on the orders being carried out. That is why we do not publish a list of vehicles — we confirm availability by phone or email for a specific date and route. ### What vehicles appear on return routes? Most often standard trailers and vans up to 3.5 t, usually in Germany (including the Frankfurt am Main area). We confirm the vehicle type and equipment for the given date. ### Is a return load cheaper? The quote depends on the route, the date and the cargo parameters; we do not give rates in advance. Ask, stating the ready date and the loading place — we will reply whether we have a vehicle and on what terms. ## Contact - Email: biuro@evslogistics.pl - Phone: +48 22 266 21 57
